hi everyone

i got install only 256MB ram....

normal use should be enough...

but when i open few application... the free RAM will drop very fast... sometimes until 0%....

and even if like i open my computer, browse some file... also the free RAM % will drop very fast



another thing is..
after i close all the application..
the RAM wont free itself....
dono why


anyone can help?

Are you using Win95/98/ME?? Seems like a problem with the virtual memory management. Quite popular with the above mentioned OS.

yup....sometimes it can go to negative memory too...

so how can i fix the problem?

cause after a while the computer will be very slow [ram used up]

First try to install all available updates and service packs from M$. If still cannot resolve, then try downloading the latest drivers as well.... Still cannot then try KISS lor.... reformat....

my suggestion is do scandisk first and remove those auto start up program like ms office

Edit the register. Many unwanted programes get loaded on bootup. I known of one person loading up so many utilities that the whole system is not stable at all.

Do a ctrl-alt-del and see your list of loaded programes. then determine what you don't want and use the msconfig to hold those programes during boot up. If it is still stable you can permanently remove them using regedit.

Anyone found out loading in a different order can solve this??

uh? once u disable in msconfig nonit to delete in registry dee ma.. :confused: and they dun auto reenable...u have to enable em back in the future if u want 2 use what uve disabled

just add RAM to my baby and now she got 512MB ddr333 ram....

but long time no in home lar.. dono how is the performance
and dono if the problem still there....
