Anyone had tried to download a file more than 3KB via hotlink GPRS ?

Recently i was trying to download some ringtones *.mid & java midlets that more than 3KB yet i got the error message said " Network Error".

Then i though is my handphone problem so i send a email to siemens customer support & ask some ppl that using the phone in a forum. The answers i got is:

1) check your GPRS configuration: So i did the checking and no error found

2)your service provider network problem: So currently i'm checking with Hotlink cutomers service n support. Waiting for reply from hotlink.

hotlink customer service n support dinT give me a proper reply even they did called me for the problem. They just said "I'll check with the engineer team..n give u a call."
Until now already 3 days still got no reply from hotlink.

Yet siemens had given me their 2nd email n i can confirm that it is hotlink GPRS service problem....
Here some part of the replied email:

I have read your message and I believe the problem lies with the your
Network as stated in the error message. If you are able to browse and
download files smaller than 3kb, then there is a big chance that your
network is blocking downloads for files bigger than 3kb.

Sincerely,

Tim

Somehow, I am still using HOTLINK GPRS and there's no charge to my account yet. Anyone can confirm this?

Dear sherly,

1. maxis will charge u RM10 for activation fees. They will reduce Rm10 from your a/c within 7 days after you activate your GPRS.

2. The GPRS connection is free of charge till 31 Dec 2003.

Activation fees and GPRS connection fees are not the same. Dun been trick by maxis.

May this will help.

Cheers. :)

Now free period, of course lagging. Sometimes connection will drop, have to reconnect. The settings u may get it from DiGi website www.digi.com.my If the phone model dun match for your criteria, u may call Helpline to ask for the settings manually.

Me activate before 31/10/2003, it's FOC.
