1. I have been subscribing streamyx service for more than 2 years.
I use this connection for cybercafe by 30pc's + 1 pc server.
Enterprise package 1mb/ 384kbps connection.
I need ur suggestions and tips as below:

a. sometimes, the printer sharing is in enabled position for 3 pc's only even i ve make shared for all, how to make it always in enable condition for all pc clients?

b. is the connection used now enough for 30 pc's? as well as no games online available, only for surfing and chatting.

2. I wish to subscribe streamyx for my house and could be connected to LAN with my neighboord houses (4-5 houses) side by side. Unfortunately, my phone line distance is more than 5 km, it is 5.35km. As Telkom said that streamyx can be applied below 5km, if more than that can wait till dont know.... 1 month? 2 months? not sure. Do you have any opinion about this? pls share.....

Weird...... in fact it should always be sharing with all PCs after you have set printer sharing on all PCs......

Wow..... Mine is just slightly over 5km, almost like yours, but I can get connected...... No problem at all...

i think make sure all computer have printer driver installed, all the computer sets the printer as default and mayb another problem is because your printer is not a network printer?

my office 6.XX km... can install by force...kekeke.... running fast very fast..... can download till 98kbps....

Best is dont harap XP to "auto detect" and install the printer
Manually install the network printer urself is more reliable.

Can wan ... best results with a branded modem (aztech or alcatel)...got ppl use till 6.3km

first, can try print server to dedicate as IP- based network printer .

or u could use windows server 2003. ;)

1. i ve already set up the printer in all pc client manually, once in enable condition it can print well. but sometimes changed UNABLED to connect automatically. how to prevent this happening again? i am very tired to help some student to print from 1 pc to another pc.

wah.. 1st question, leceh.something about share announce stuff, best if server is running windows server, not XP lah

trials have been done for 5-7km ppl, 5 to 6km is OK but 7km is unsatisfactory connection.
try borrowing frens' modem and c whether can connect.

1. i should install new o/s win 2003 later, when my downloading is finished all.

2. i dont mean the qualitiy of distance connection up to 5km. but i mean here is how to get that subscription fast? as i was told by the officer of tmnet that i ve been in waiting list. when i ask till when i wait for that? no good answer! the officer said not sure.... 1 month ke 2 months ke... 3 months ke.. so dudes, how can u get fast subscription even ur distance is up than 5km? any suggestion?
